We’ve all done it.
Been judge and jury.
I’ll be the first to admit it.
I think it’s part of being human.
We have all been judged and sentenced ourselves.
Whether we know it or not.
EVERYONE is going through or been through a battle we don’t know about.
We just see the side effect of a battle being fought or the post battle injuries.
The side effects generally being displayed in:
Appearance
Behaviour
Decisions
Lifestyle
Speech
Actions
All obvious things we can observe.
I don’t know about you but I become way more judgemental when facing my own battles.
Ironically when I’m displaying the same things that would invite judgement.
I’m not perfect and neither are you.
We don’t have to be perfect to try a new perspective.
I first heard James Geering reframe a simple question.
(Paraphrasing)
“Instead of asking or assuming what is wrong with a person.
We should question what happened to that person”.
Will I never judge again…. probably not.
But I will definitely try my best.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Approach with curiosity.
Not judgement.
Do your best anyway.
